Short Term Scientific Missions

Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSM) are the crucial instrument to the exchange of knowledge between groups working in different techniques, either to measure with techniques not available in their home institution or to learn/teach these techniques in other groups.
Preference will be given to the exchange of Early Stage Researchers (ESR). STSM applications will be coordinated by the STSM Manager.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A STSM:
Please follow the instructions in the following document APPLYING FOR A STSM (780 downloads) .
STSM applications can now be made by clicking on the following link www.cost.eu/STSM or by logging in e-COST and clicking on “STSM Application” on the menu available on the left.

IMPORTANT:  As mentioned in the above document, after completion of the mission STSM beneficiaries must send a scientific report to STSM Coordinator (Bernard Piraux) and a summary suitable for publication to XLIC Managers. Failure to submit these reports within 30 days will effectively cancel the grant.

DEADLINE TO APPLY:
COST Action CM1204 (XLIC) will end on April 30th, 2017, but you can still participate in the last Action activities and take the opportunity to move forward in your joint research activities by performing the last short research missions (STSM).
If you need XLIC support to fund a mission, please, note that missions should be performed within the Action lifetime and the deadline to apply is March 15, 2017.

APPROVED MISSIONS:
A summary on main achievements derived from STSMs, suitable for publication, shall be published in the Action web page. A list of already acomplished STSM can be found here.

YOUNG SCIENTIST FORUM:
Young scientists who have enjoyed a STSM are usually  invited to participate in the annual Young Scientists’ Meeting.
