The International Science at FELs 2014 conference, organised under the auspices of the “Collaboration of European FEL and SPS Facilities”, will take place at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Villigen, Switzerland, from the 15th to the 17th of September 2014. The conference highlights recent science achievements and new developments in the expanding field of free electron lasers. It covers applications in condensed matter research, biology, chemistry, matter under extreme conditions, atomic and molecular systems as well as theory.
Dedicated introductory lectures for students are offered at the start of the conference. To encourage student participation, student grants have been provided by several sponsors (student support application deadline is on the 30th of June 2014).
The International Conference on Extreme Light (ICEL2015) will be held in Bucharest, Romania from Nov. 23rd to Nov. 27th, 2015.
ICEL2015 will be a unique opportunity to gather together the community of ELI users at large in a single scientific event, the first of a regular series of conferences. The scientific program at ICEL2015 will feature over 70 invited (list of confirmed invited speakers available on the conference web site) and contributed oral presentations in plenary and parallel sessions, as well as poster sessions. The Conference will offer opportunities to discuss with colleagues from academia, research laboratories, and industry worldwide.
For registration, abstracts submission, accommodation booking, travel details and additional information about the event, please visit the Conference website at:
Among the Abstracts submitted until October 12, 2015 some will be selected for contributed oral presentations and that a visit of ELI-NP facility will be organized for the interested participants on Monday November 23, 2015 in the afternoon.
We look forward to seeing you numerous joining us in Bucharest in November!
The Workshop on Imaging with Femtosecond Electrons and X-ray pulses (IFEXS) will be held on February 1-3, 2016 at the Savoia Excelsior Palace in Trieste.
The workshop, jointly organized by CNR-IOM within the NFFA-Trieste facility programme and EPFL-Lausanne, aims to discuss the next frontier of ultrafast science regarding the advances of both electrons and photons based techniques with a special focus on the necessary cross-feeding between them.
Emphasis will be put on the complementary aspects of ultrafast electron microscopy and X-FEL based diffractive imaging techniques and on the future perspective of broadening the applicability of these tools by considering X-rays also as a chemically selective photo excitation and combining fs-X-ray beams with fs electron beams in an ad hoc modified Transmission Electron Microscope.
The program will comprise invited keynote lectures and poster presentations.
The workshop is open to all contributions (from theoretical, experimental, and simulation methods).
Deadline for submission of a two page abstract is January 7, 2016. Notification acceptance of poster presentation will be sent by January 13.
Registration is due by January 20, 2016.
Please, be advised that on-site registration will not be admitted.
On the workshop website you will find instructions for registration and abstract submission along with all relevant information about the workshop.
